Kenmare Brewhouse: Honest Irish Pub Fare Done Right
Kenmare Brewhouse hits all the marks for a proper Irish dining experience. The menu is refreshingly straightforward—no pretension, just well-executed classics that clearly understand what they’re doing.
The Fish & Chips ($24.50 from the menu) was the standout. Golden batter encasing flaky, perfectly cooked fish, served with hand-cut chips and crispy wedges. The tartar sauce and mushy peas on the side showed attention to detail. This is comfort food at its best—nothing fancy, just done beautifully.
The Steak & Guinness Pie was a triumph. That golden, buttery pastry top gave way to rich, slow-cooked beef in a deeply savoury sauce. The mash potato base was creamy and substantial. It’s the kind of dish that feels like a warm embrace on a plate.
The plating across both dishes was immaculate—vibrant garnishes, thoughtful component placement, and those brilliant red plates made everything pop visually. Service appeared attentive (visible water refills, proper glassware), and the atmosphere felt relaxed but polished.
Worth returning for: The fundamentals are spot-on. This is Irish pub cooking that respects tradition while executing with contemporary finesse.

Stopped in Kenmare, only food I've tried here so far. Burger was good, nothing special, but the goat cheese salad was definitely special. It came out warm and it was definitely something to write about! Picture is of the goat cheese salad.

The seafood chowder soup is AMAZING. Huge chunks of salmon and somehow the soup gets even better by dipping the bread in it. We came back twice just for the soup. The drinks, live music, and service were excellent too.
